Immediate response can make all the difference in a dive emergency. The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider course teaches you how to recognise diving-related illnesses treatable with emergency oxygen — and how to administer it safely and effectively. The course is valuable for dive professionals, rescue divers, pool and leisure staff, and anyone who wants to be prepared to assist others.
Before booking, ensure you meet PADI medical fitness requirements; complete a PADI medical statement or obtain physician approval where required.
What you will learn
- Recognising diving injuries: signs and symptoms of scuba diving-related injuries, including decompression illness and lung overexpansion injuries
- Emergency oxygen equipment: hands-on practice with demand valves, non-rebreather masks, and pocket masks
- Safe oxygen administration: setting up and using oxygen units; assisting breathing and non-breathing casualties
- Care and maintenance: handling, storing, and maintaining emergency oxygen equipment safely

- Practical, hands-on training (no dives required)
- Scenarios using different delivery systems
- Guidance on integrating oxygen into your emergency action plan
